K53Quiz (k53quiz.co.za) is a free South African learner's licence practice platform. By using this website you agree to this Privacy Policy in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act 4 of 2013.

2. What We Collect

Analytics Data (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. This collects anonymised data such as pages visited, time on site, device type, and general location (country/city level). IP addresses are anonymised. No personally identifiable information is collected.

Local Storage (Your Device Only)

Your practice progress, scores, streaks, and settings are saved directly in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible by us.

Cookies

We use cookies solely for Google Analytics (analytics cookies) and to remember your cookie notice preference. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data to third parties.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To understand which content is most useful and improve the site
  • To monitor site performance and fix errors
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes
  • We do not use your data for profiling or automated decision-making

4. Third-Party Services

We use Google Analytics(operated by Google LLC). Google may process data on servers outside South Africa. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

5. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for 14 months as per Google Analytics default settings. Local storage data remains on your device until you clear your browser data.

6. Your Rights (POPIA)

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your information
  • Object to the processing of your information
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

Because we only collect anonymised analytics data and store nothing personally identifiable, there is no personal record linked to you that we can identify. To opt out of Google Analytics entirely, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

7. Children

K53Quiz is intended for users aged 16 and older (the minimum learner's licence age in South Africa). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
