K53 Code 10 Test — Free 2026 Prep

This free K53 code 10 test runs the full 68-question paper for heavy motor vehicles over 3 500 kg — the code that covers rigid trucks, so it doubles as a K53 truck test. Road signs, rules of the road and vehicle controls. No sign-up, completely free.

What is a Code 10 Learner’s Licence?

A Code 10 learner’s licence authorises you to drive a heavy motor vehicle (HMV) with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) exceeding 3 500 kg. This includes rigid trucks, buses, coaches, and large minibuses — any vehicle that is not classified as extra-heavy.

To obtain a Code 10 licence you must first pass the K53 learner’s test at a DLTC. You may then drive on public roads when accompanied by a licensed driver. Passing the Code 10 driving test qualifies you to drive heavy vehicles professionally.

The minimum age is 18 years for Code 10. A Code 8 licence is not a prerequisite, though many learners obtain it first.
